Authentic taste of Cava since 1882

Roger Goulart was founded in 1882 in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Alto Penedès. Our farmhouse, Can Goulart, dates back to the early 18th century.

Roger Goulart was founded at the end of the 19th century when the Canals family, inspired by wineries in the Champagne region, decided to build a unique facility dedicated exclusively to the production of natural sparkling wines according to the traditional method. It was an ambitious project aimed at producing top quality sparkling wines. The result is a majestic Modernist-style winery built by Ignaci Mas i Morell (a contemporary of Antonio Gaudi,) at the beginning of the 20th century, under which an impressive set of underground galleries 30 metres deep and more than a kilometre long were excavated. These galleries have the unique temperature and humidity conditions needed for the production of highly expressive sparkling wines.

Today, after 140 years of experience, Roger Goulart continues producing top-of-the-range cavas exclusively in these same underground galleries.

The Cava Process

Our Production

Each grape variety is fermented separately when producing the base wine, and it is only once alcoholic fermentation has finished and the wine has clarified naturally that the different wines are blended. This technique ensures a base wine with a more complex and powerful organoleptic profile, as synergies are created between the wines that make up the blend. Blends may differ in each vintage, but they always stick to the aromatic profile our cavas are famed for.

Thanks to our use of the Garnacha Tinta grape as the main variety for rosés, Roger Goulart’s rosé cavas have always displayed an individual style unique to the winery. This grape variety, with a marked Mediterranean character, provides us with very fruity wines with a delicate bouquet and a beautiful pink colour with bluish undertones and which, thanks to their high acidity, last during the ageing period and can be enjoyed in all their glory when poured into a glass and savoured with friends.

Demi Sec Millésimé

A delightful vintage Cava that perfectly balances sweetness with acidity, offering a slightly softer and more accessible profile. This Demi Sec Millésimé pours a beautiful light gold with a steady stream of delicate bubbles. Its bouquet is inviting and aromatic, with lush notes of ripe orchard fruits like peach and pear, complemented by subtle floral hints and a touch of honeyed richness. A distinguished vintage Cava that epitomizes the quality and tradition of Spanish sparkling wines. Crafted with meticulous care using the traditional method, this Brut Millesimé displays a pale golden hue with an impressive stream of fine bubbles. Aromas of ripe apple, pear, and citrus blend harmoniously with notes of toasted bread and almond, a testament to its extended aging on the lees. On the palate, it is both vibrant and complex, with a creamy mousse and well-balanced acidity that highlights flavours of stone fruits and a touch of brioche. A remarkable Cava for those who appreciate a pure, dry sparkling wine with no added sugar, highlighting the natural character of its terroir.
