We always assess wine following a strict framework, be it the WSET’s SAT or the Court of Master Sommelier’s grid. While Karen doesn’t deny the benefit from a systematic approach, she also adds the following incredibly important dimensions:
- Was the wine Distinct?
- Precise?
- Alive?
- Did it unveil a choreography on your palate, was it connected to the terroir it is from?
- And above all… Did it move you emotionally?
